Must-Have: Experience with neuro, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, CVA, and aneurysm patients. Knowledge of wound care, dressing changes, wound vacs, drains, peripheral IV starts/maintenance, ostomy care, IV antibiotics, PEG tube maintenance, and tube feeds. Familiarity with established trach care/maintenance and handling of braces/splints. Ability to manage mobility deficits and oversee bowel/bladder programs.
Description: Licensed Practical Nurse positions are available. The facility has 58 beds, with 25 beds in the relevant unit. The patient census is typically between 20-25. Patient demographics include those recovering from neuro injuries, post-craniotomies, CVAs, brain bleeds, and individuals requiring PEG tube and trach care. The patient-to-nurse ratio is approximately 1:5-7, with CNAs available for additional support. Support staff includes receptionists, unit secretaries, and charge nurses. Nurses will be supported by a 24/7 respiratory therapist and hospitalist. Common medical technologies used include EMR systems, IV pumps, and patient monitoring equipment. Nursing duties will involve collaboration and teamwork within a busy environment. Weekend shifts will be required, along with holiday coverage. Requests for time off will require managerial approval. Nurses should be prepared for a dynamic and fast-paced work culture.
