Residential Hospice is looking for volunteers with certified pet therapy dogs to visit our patients on Hospice care. Hospice pet therapy utilizes the natural bond between humans and animals to bring joy, humor love and companionship to those on the end-of-life-journey.
Benefits for the Patients: The unconditional, non- judgmental love that pets provide. Reduced feelings of loneliness and anxiety. The encouragement to socialize. Having something to look forward to.
Benefits for Volunteers: The gratification of bringing smiles to the faces of patients, families and friends, and faculty staff. The chance to witness firsthand the amazing impact a dog can have on the lives of others. The opportunity to give their certified pet therapy dog important work to do, where it will receive lots of loving attention.
