The Histology Technician will perform the various tasks required for receiving, processing, and preparing patient tissue specimens for microscopic examination and analysis by the Pathologist. This may include logging, batching, and cutting, mounting, and staining procedures. Job Responsibilities
Perform histological technical procedures using manual and automated techniques to achieve quality pathology slides for review by pathologist Embed tissue in paraffin blocks, cut paraffin embedded tissue, and change stainer Perform in a fast paced environment Comply with OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA regulations Perform routine housekeeping duties, keep room and lab stocked with supplies Organize, file and dispose of all specimens within regulation. Participate in external and internal proficiency testing
