Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Refactor legacy systems into scalable microservices and build responsive Angular frontends for modern business applications. Develop secure Java backend services, REST APIs, and data integrations across SQL and NoSQL environments. Deploy and support cloud-native applications using containers, DevSecOps practices, and observability tools to improve reliability and maintainability. Minimum Candidate Characteristics: 8+ years of full software development lifecycle experience building enterprise applications from design through deployment and support. 8+ years of hands-on development experience with Angular, TypeScript, and Java backend technologies, including RESTful API design and integration. 8+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, containerization, cloud-native deployment, and DevSecOps-enabled development workflows. Exceptional Candidate Characteristics: Experience with an HHS agency. Experience refactoring legacy monolithic applications into microservices-based architectures. Familiarity with observability tools such as Application Insights or Prometheus. Experience with feature flags, progressive delivery, Agile ceremonies, and peer review practices. Target Pay Rate to you (C2C): $ 90 p/h C2C or either $80/hr W2 Expected Duration: 4 months / 780 hours (4/20/26 – 8/31/26) Location: Hybrid (3-remote, 2-onsite)-Candidates must be local to the Austin area.
