Patient Support and Transport
Retrieve patients from waiting rooms, holding areas, or nursing floors Escort patients safely to and from imaging rooms and departments Provide full attention to patient needs, comfort, and environment
Patient Care and Safety
Correctly identify patients using approved identifiers Implement safety and fall precautions and communicate needs to the care team Recognize signs of patient distress and initiate emergency procedures including nurse or physician notification, DIURT, or CODE
Environment and Equipment Readiness
Clean and maintain prep rooms and imaging rooms Ensure work areas and equipment are safe, clean, and organized Stock supplies and identify supply needs to ensure patient readiness
Communication and Professionalism
Communicate professionally and effectively with patients, guests, and care providers Use communication tools responsibly, including whiteboards, paging systems, telephones, email, and fax Demonstrate respect, courtesy, and teamwork in all interactions
Additional Duties
Actively assist colleagues and support overall department operations Perform all other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Education
Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent and Required: Current enrollment in the Diagnostic Imaging program within the School of Health Professions at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Preferred: ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Upon Hire Preferred: BLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Preferred: CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation Upon Hire
