Job Duties:
Screen patients while performing and recording vital signs Perform data entry through Electronic Medical Record system Maintain medical records and patient confidentiality Disinfect and clean room after each patient Assist with allergy injections as directed by the acting Provider Explains treatment to patients as needed Change sutures and dressings as needed Assists physician during exam Answer phone calls in a friendly manner and acts as operator for the Hospital Greets and interacts with patients in a friendly and polite manner Other Administrative duties as needed such as register patients and schedule appointments Ability to multitask and move between responsibilities in fluid manner Adheres to Jcaho hospital standards and PolicyStat policies Monitors supplies and inventory as needed Other duties as assigned
Qualifications of Medical Assistant:
Demonstrates eligibility to work for any employer in the U.S. High school diploma, GED, or suitable equivalent required. Associate's or Bachelor's Degrees strongly preferred in the areas related to Healthcare. Previous healthcare experience preferred Must be able to achieve CPR certification within 30 days of employment. Ability to provide excellent customer service to show superior patient care. Demonstrates enthusiasm and drive. Able to work compassionately with patients and coworkers to exhibit patient care second to none Exudes respect and flexibility to impact the workplace in a positive manner. Ability to relate and work effectively with others; works well within a team environment Demonstrates excellent skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care, in order to meet documentation standards. Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for professional advancement. Previous experience and familiarity with EMRs is preferred. Is aware of standards and performs in accordance with them. Able to work in a fast paced environment. Strong attention to detail.
