Point University is accepting applications for an adjunct online teaching position in Information Technology within the College of Arts & Sciences. The information technology curriculum focuses on providing students with a working knowledge of computer systems and devices, networks, operating systems, IT support, troubleshooting, and security. All applicants must be physically located within the United States. The primary responsibility involves teaching asynchronous information technology courses using Canvas. Course topics include, but are not limited to: Database Management Systems (SQL) Foundations of Web Design (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) Introduction to Programming (data structures and algorithms) Introduction to Linux Graduate degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data and Information Science or a closely related field o Minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in the field Online teaching experience Online course development Commitment to undergraduate education, professional growth, service, and scholarship in a distinctively Christian setting, including agreement with the University's mission and goals, values, and doctrinal statement Strong analytical, communication, interpersonal, and research skills Must be physically located within the United States Terminal degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data and Information Science or a closely related field Industry and practical experience IT/cybersecurity certifications from industry leaders such as CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft, SANS Institute, ISC2, Red Hat, or AWS Demonstrated expertise in at least one of the following areas: database systems, web design and development, programming, Linux, or SQL Proficiency with Canvas LMS Applicants should be prepared to upload the following materials as part of their application: Resume Cover letter Copies of any relevant certifications Three professional references (must include email and phone number) Unofficial transcripts for undergraduate and graduate institutions Note: Send copies of ALL transcripts to Jobs@point.edu (unofficial will be accepted for application purposes, with official required for hiring).
