DESCRIPTIONMedication Assistant Assisted Living All Shifts - ALL SHIFTS.Immediate Placement - You could be working within one week!Medication Assistant:
Certification Required. CPR Card Required. On the job training available. Immediate openings available Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Provides personal care and services for optimum social, health, and welfare functioning of all Residents in accordance with written policies and procedures, State, and health department regulations, and Residents' Rights to include: a. Assistance with ADL's including ambulating, transfers, bathing, toileting, dressing, grooming, meals, etc. b. Assist with performing, monitoring and supervision of daily personal hygiene of Residents. c. Assist Residents with medications in accordance with the written location policies, State, and health department regulations.
2) Supervises self-administration of medication for residents. 3) Speaks to/interacts with Residents at all levels of care constantly, while showing empathy, kindness, compassion, and respect. 4) Observes Residents and notes physical conditions, attitude, emotions, reactions, appetites, etc. and reports changes/unusual findings to supervisor.
5) Communicates with Location managers in reference to personal assistance services or other services needed to maintain quality of services to Residents and reports changes in Residents' physical condition as appropriate. 6) Responsible for initiating and participating in leisure activities provided to Residents as described in the activity calendar.
7) Serves Residents in the Location dining room in a professional, friendly manner according to established policies and procedures.
8) Fully understands all emergency procedures and acts responsibly in the event of a fire, or other emergency. 9) Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly environment for all Residents at all times. 10) Performs daily general housekeeping duties following established cleaning schedules. 11) Provides a variety of housekeeping and/or laundry duties in maintaining the community in an orderly, clean, and sanitary condition.
12) Performs all other reasonable duties. Resident Care and Satisfaction 1) Fully understand all aspects of residents' rights; maintain the comfort, privacy and dignity of each Resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact in a manner that promotes the emotional well-being of the resident. 2) Respond to patient and family member's concerns with empathy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner. 3) Records accurate records for daily activity of each Resident as required.
4) Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance on conformity with dress code standards. 5) Communicates effectively in a language that each resident is capable of understanding. 6) Ensures and supports a dignified and caring atmosphere for Residents, families, visitors, and associates. 7) Always responds promptly and courteously to Resident's requests for assistance including phone calls and requests from family members and visitors. Clinical/Technical Duties and Responsibilities 1) Ensure compliance with resident medication assistance guidelines outlined in state Assisted Living regulations and company policy and procedures. 2) See that prescription medications are logged weekly and monthly medication logs are updated. 3) Maintains accurate resident records and care notes. 4) Notifies physician, family and Managing Director of any changes in the resident's physical or emotional condition. 5) Is responsible and accountable to fully understand the clinical/medical portion of the Assisted Living rules and regulations, prepared by the Alabama State Board of Health. As well as the company policy and procedures. Professional Development 1) Maintains industry knowledge by attending educational workshops or classes; reviewing related publications, establishing networks. Maintain necessary education classes to keep Alabama Assisted Living Administrator license current, if applicable. 2) Attends in-service training.
Physical Work Environment: Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and to exert 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical activity involves sitting, walking, standing, carrying, bending, lifting, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
