Description
Conduct comprehensive evaluations across all age groups using standardized assessments and observational techniques. Create individualized treatment plans addressing immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing needs. Implement one-on-one therapy sessions that focus on key areas including communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing improvement. Work alongside a multidisciplinary team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, and physicians to create a unified approach to care. Educate both patients and their families to reinforce progress and understanding beyond the clinical setting. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions, ensuring a smooth continuum of care. Uphold timely and accurate documentation to meet state and federal standards. Stay informed on the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and interaction with peers. Education
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not ASHA-certified. Certifications
Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly desirable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within the first month of employment. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with strong knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to modify therapy techniques as necessary to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic perspectives. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
