Responsibilities:
Accurately and efficiently process customer transactions through registers to itemize and total customer purchasesCollects payment in form of cash, check or credit from customers and able to provide accurate change when needed, and the transaction receiptRecord daily transactions from cash register to balance drawer by counting money at the beginning and end of each shiftMaintain orderly appearance of personal work space and surrounding areasAssist in entering & processing NICS firearm background checksAssist with gun room housekeepingAbility to carry multiple gun boxes up & down stairsWalking multiple customers across the catwalk to the escalatorsAbility to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memosDemonstrate multitasking, organization, attention to detail and problem solving skillsExperience in Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Publisher, Excel and Google DocsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions and percentagesPromote the Scheels Visa Rewards card and be able to clearly explain all benefitsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to complete basic mathematical equationsAbility to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Assist with all other duties as assignedEnsure all paperwork for firearm sales including but not limited to form 4473, licensing, and background checks are completed accurately and thoroughly

Education & Experience:
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or 1-3 months of cashiering experience.
Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Scheels cares about the health and safety of our Associates. Associates are expected to follow all safety procedures and perform their job duties in a fashion that minimizes the risk of injury.
Schedule: This position will include 1-2 nights a week, Monday through Friday, 5:00 - 9:00 P.M, and every other weekend. Saturday shifts will vary between 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. and Sundays 11:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. On average, this position will be 15-20 hours per week.
Compensation: $17. The rate posted is an hourly wage.
