Position Summary: The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily accounting operations of the company and ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This role manages accounting processes related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, job costing, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager works closely with leadership to support operational and financial goals while maintaining efficient and accurate accounting practices.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.Maintain accurate inventory accounting for materials, supplies, and related products.Monitor and reconcile inventory adjustments, vendor invoices, and purchase orders.Assist with pricing analysis, margin reporting, and cost tracking.Manage sales tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Coordinate and assist with annual audits, tax preparation, and financial reviews.Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.Supervise and support accounting staff, including training and performance management.Monitor cash flow and assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.Work closely with operations, purchasing, and sales departments to ensure accurate financial data.Analyze financial performance and provide recommendations to management.Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information.Collection of ARPerform other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.5+ years of accounting experience required.Previous management or supervisory experience preferred.Strong understanding of inventory accounting and job costing.Knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting practices.Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and leadership abilities.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.Positions self to install equipment, including under desks.Moves throughout the building to access files.Must be able to comprehend and follow written and oral instructions. Must be able to complete tasks even with frequent interruptions. Must be able to use discretion and independent judgment as needed. Must be able to speak clearly on the phone and to fellow workers.
