The Banquet Captain works closely with the events, culinary, and front-of-house teams to oversee banquet operations from start to finish. This role ensures all events are executed to the highest standards, while upholding Lyle's culture, mission, and commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

Banquet Captain - Essential Functions
Supervise and assist with the setup, service, and breakdown of banquet functions to ensure smooth executionLead, coach, and direct banquet servers and support staff, assigning responsibilities and maintaining service standardsServe as the primary point of contact between event planners, kitchen, and service teamsProvide exceptional guest service, addressing inquiries, special requests, and resolving issues promptlyEnsure all event details-including food presentation, table settings, and ambiance-meet or exceed standardsCoordinate closely with culinary and service teams to execute event specifications accuratelyMonitor event flow and timelines to ensure seamless progression of service and scheduled activitiesMaintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces before, during, and after eventsEnsure compliance with all health, safety, and food handling standardsAssist with training and mentoring team membersOversee banquet inventory, including linens, tableware, and service equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
1+ year of progressive experience in a hotel, events, or hospitality environmentPrevious supervisory or leadership experience preferredHigh school diploma or equivalent required; related coursework is a plusValid Alcohol Awareness Certification in accordance with state regulationsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organizational and decision-making abilitiesAbility to remain calm, professional, and solutions-focused under pressureProactive, team-oriented mindset with strong attention to detailFlexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysAbility to serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) in restaurant operations when needed
Compensation:
$21,000 - $23,000 Annual Salary + Gratuity
