Responsible to: IC&E Engineering Manager
Position Summary: This position is primarily responsible for the design, testing, and implementation of new control and automation schemes for power generation, power distribution, and chemical processing equipment as needed by the IC&E Engineering team. Duties can involve some on-site commissioning and troubleshooting work.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automation systems and controls for power generation and gas processing equipmentTroubleshoot and repair automation equipment and control systemsProvide assistance to Operations teams in the use of control systemsWork with other engineers to develop and implement new control systems and automation technologiesPerform lab testing for new/potential automation equipment as neededParticipate in project planning and executionDevelop and maintain technical documentation related to automation systems and controlsProvide technical support to other departments as neededSupport/Lead Ignition implementation
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer ScienceMinimum of 5 years of experience in real time automation control and/or Embedded Systems (C, C++, and/or structured text) programming in the power industryMinimum of 5 years of experience in the installation, operation, or troubleshooting of industrial automation and control equipmentKnowledge of Embedded C, Structured Text, Function Block, and PLC programming practicesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsValid driver's license
Other Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Electrical Protection RelaysExperience with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories' (SEL) electronicsExperience with SEL RTAC programmingExperience with DEIF, Deep Sea, CAT EMCP, or DIANE genset controllersExperience with Allen Bradley and/or Rockwell PLC'sExperience with Medium or High Voltage Switchgear/Substation electronics and controlsExperience with Power Management SystemsExperience with the integration of industrial SCADA systems and we-based HMI'sKnowledge of Electrical Protection SchemesKnowledge of Electrical Arc Flash and Coordination StudiesKnowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and/or other relevant codes and standards
