Remote / Hybrid Schedule: MUST BE ONSITE 4 DAYS A WEEK. Can choose their remote day and it can vary per week.
Position Summary
The Business Analyst serves as a key liaison between business operations and Technology, supporting initiatives across the Auto, Homeowners, and Commercial Auto lines of business. This is an on-site role requiring presence in the office 4 days per week to support collaboration with product, underwriting, operations, and development teams. One day per week may be performed remotely, consistent with company policy.
The Business Analyst is responsible for analyzing business processes, documenting functional and system requirements, supporting system enhancements, and helping ensure solutions are delivered in alignment with SDLC / System Development Methodology standards.
Key Responsibilities
Partner with business and technology stakeholders to analyze workflows and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, and system performance. Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications, use cases, and acceptance criteria. Contribute to project planning activities including estimates, timelines, impact assessments, and ongoing status reporting. Support SDLC compliance by preparing and maintaining documentation, work products, and design artifacts. Collaborate with QA to develop test plans and participate in systems testing. Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) - review and validate defects, triage issues, and determine when change controls are required. Assist in incident analysis and resolution of production issues and enhancement requests. Prepare agendas, document decisions and action items, and maintain organized project documentation.
Qualifications
2+ years of Property & Casualty insurance experience, preferably in Auto, Homeowners, or Commercial Auto. Experience supporting initiatives through the full systems development life cycle. Demonstrated experience writing functional requirements, use cases, and process documentation. Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate effectively in an onsite team environment. Working knowledge of Jira for requirements, backlog, and defect tracking. Familiarity with Generative AI agents and AI-assisted productivity tools (e.g., for documentation, analysis, test case drafting, research, or workflow automation), with an interest in identifying practical use cases to improve team efficiency. Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with MS Project or similar tools is a plus. Technical aptitude: prior design or coding exposure is beneficial.
