Educate patients about their diseases, treatment, and side effects of treatment and how to manage them Routine post surgical patient outreach to assess post surgical recovery remotely and address barriers in recovery in a timely manner to optimize recovery Collection of patient reported outcomes data to identify metrics to improve and enhance delivery of care and further orthopedic research Basic wound care / dressing care as needed and post op assessment of recovery Provide clinical resources – where to seek a second opinion, treatment or testing that may not be available locally, and how to access reliable sources of information Assess patients for psychosocial distress and referral to a medical social worker or counselor if more intensive support is needed Answer questions as appropriate and serve as a liaison to the physician for additional questions and concerns
Job Requirements
Required
Bachelors Of Nursing Three (3) years clinical nursing experience Current and valid Registered Nurse: CA license (RN:CA) Basic Life Support - CPR (BLS-CPR) certification from the American Heart Association Mandatory Reporter Adult and Mandatory Reporter Child; tracked through Learning system Knowledge of how to plan and deliver care to a diversion population of patients Ability to communicate and work with people from a variety of age groups, social strata and ethnic backgrounds Time management, public relations promotion, conflict resolution and ability to be creative and innovative Demonstrated ability for problem solving; decision making; and establishing effective rapport with personnel, patients, families, physicians, and colleagues
