Patient Care Technician/Nursing Assistant Instructor Salary - $76.5K Annually Trinity Washington University invites applications for the upcoming academic year for PCT/CNA instructor within the School of Nursing and Health Professions. Successful applicants will have the ability to teach didactic and/or clinical courses in our PCT and CNA programs. Qualifications Successful candidates should have the following credentials:
Current Registered Nurse license (unencumbered) for the District of Columbia A Master's degree is required. Teaching experience in PCT and/or CNA programs preferred. Minimum of two-three years of clinical experience as a registered nurse, and Current knowledge of nursing practice at the nursing assistant level.
Duties/Tasks
Teaches assigned courses/clinicals. Provides classroom and course management in a manner that is consistent with professional conduct. Serves as an academic advisor and keeps regular office hours in accordance with the procedures designated by Trinity policy. Assists students outside of scheduled class times. Utilizes methods of instruction and teaching techniques that are appropriate to the fulfillment of course outcomes and objectives. Develops and maintains course outlines/calendars and makes them available to the students one week prior to the start of class. Maintains accurate class rosters (attendance reports) and submits same in the manner and at times required by the Chief Nursing Office and/or Assistant Director of Nursing. Attends program meetings and workshops as scheduled. Notifies Chief Nursing Office and/or Assistant Director of Nursing of any absences or alterations in the class schedule in advance and in writing, if possible. Reviews and recommends textbooks, reference materials, software, audio visual aids, and learning resources for classroom use. Maintains professional and technical knowledge through reading professional publications and attending workshops and conferences as appropriate. Has knowledge in working with students with disabilities and coordinating services. Other duties as assigned.
