Anesthesiology Physician VHS is seeking a highly qualified Anesthesiology Physician to join our team for a contract lasting 26+ weeks. The ideal candidate will have recent experience (last 2-3+ years) working in both inpatient high-acuity environments (ASA 3+) and outpatient surgical settings. This role requires flexibility to float between various facilities, including high acuity inpatient centers and ambulatory surgery centers, covering a diverse patient population aged 13 and older. Key Responsibilities:
Provide anesthesia services in hospital OR settings, supporting general and regional procedures. Evaluate and manage high acuity cases, with experience or interest in regional anesthesia preferred. Ability to work independently, often solo, with occasional oversight of CRNAs. Cover multiple facilities within the region, including sister sites such as Bay Front, Mt. Zion, Mission Bay, Ortho Institute, Parnassus, and Burlingame. Maintain accurate documentation using the EPIC EMR system.
Qualifications:
Board Certification in Anesthesiology (willing to consider board-eligible candidates if fellowship trained). State of California license required. DEA certification with Schedule 2/2N. BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association). At least 2 years of recent anesthesiology practice experience, ideally at tertiary care centers. Ability to work day shifts (07:00 - 17:00, 5 days per week) with day rate of $450/hr for holiday coverage. Support staff: CRNA.

Additional Details:
Support staff: CRNA. Patient population: Adults and adolescents 13+. No fixed shift requirements; flexible floating between facilities. Experience in regional anesthesia strongly preferred but not mandatory. Credentialing timeframe: approximately 60-90 days. Interview process includes 1-2 rounds.
