Ability to perform all duties with the awareness of all District requirements and Board of Education policies. Able to regularly sit and occasionally walk and stand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Able to hear conversations in a quiet and/or noisy environment, and will continually need the ability to differentiate between bells, buzzers, etc.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
Identifies and evaluates students with speech and language impairments. Participates in the determination of eligibility for special education and related services in the area of speech and language impairment. Participates in teacher and parent conferences, including multidisciplinary conferences, IEP meetings, and annual reviews. Develops and implements IEP's for all students eligible for special education and related services in the area of speech and language impairment. Provides in service programs to parents, teachers, students, administrators, and other professionals. Completes required documents and reports. Participates on child study and teacher assistance teams. Facilitates curriculum and instructional modifications. Participates in continuing professional education. Other duties as assigned.
