Teach a full course load equivalency through clinical supervision and/or clinical coursework during Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. Responsibilities include direct and indirect supervision of graduate clinical practicum students, primarily at the Nevada State University Speech-Language Pathology Clinic and, as needed, at the Nevada State University-affiliated Scottish Rite Care Clinic. Supervision includes structured instruction and mentorship to support integration of academic knowledge into clinical practice. May serve as a liaison supervisor for externship placements. Model professional conduct consistent with the ASHA Code of Ethics, HIPAA regulations, FERPA, and confidentiality guidelines. Maintain weekly student office hours to support clinical skill development and ensure quality service delivery. Develop and implement therapeutic and diagnostic protocols in collaboration with practicum students, consistent with the ASHA Scope of Practice in Speech-Language Pathology. Assume responsibility for all client-related documentation, written and verbal reports, conferences, and student evaluations, including use of the clinic's electronic medical record and evaluation systems. Serve as an integral member of the clinical team by participating in staff meetings, department meetings, and college events. Support clinical teaching through in-service training for students and clinical staff. Maintain current professional knowledge and licensure, engage in evidence-based practice, and participate in continuing education, including training in clinical supervision. Serve on Nevada State University committees as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Must hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP). Minimum of two (2) years of post-certification clinical experience in speech-language pathology. Demonstrated experience supervising graduate student clinicians and/or Clinical Fellows (CF). Prior teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level is preferred. Current Nevada license to practice Speech-Language Pathology by the start date of employment. Demonstrated knowledge of and adherence to the ASHA Code of Ethics, HIPAA regulations, FERPA, and confidentiality standards. Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience evaluating and treating children and adults with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Clinical experience across diverse practice settings (e.g., schools, medical facilities, rehabilitation centers, community clinics) serving pediatric and adult populations. Demonstrated commitment to working with diverse, first-generation, and non-traditional student populations. Strong interest in contributing to the continued development and expansion of an on-campus speech-language pathology clinic and affiliated community clinical services. Demonstrated collaboration skills and experience working effectively within interdisciplinary teams. Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
Rank, Salary & Benefits: 12-month. Non-tenure track. Budgeted salary for this position is commensurate with experience.
