Transform Lives Through Communication in the Emerald City - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with UsOverview If your next career path could evoke purpose - both in voice and in spirit, imagine being a Speech Language Pathologist in one of the most dynamic urban landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Here in Seattle, your role transcends the mere treatment of communication and swallowing challenges; you have the power to uncover potential, reinstate confidence, and nurture interpersonal connections. From the exuberance of children articulating their first words to the resilience of seniors regaining their independence, your impact will resonate profoundly. This position not only allows you to assist a broad spectrum of individuals across different life stages, but it also provides an environment enriched with both outpatient therapy and occasional inpatient duties. Whether your heart lies in nurturing young minds through language acquisition, addressing complex adult neurogenic communication disorders, or supporting cognitive rehabilitation in the geriatric population, you will find abundant opportunities for personal and professional satisfaction. Description
Conduct assessments for patients from pediatric to geriatric populations utilizing standardized testing and observational strategies. Design tailored treatment plans addressing both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives. Deliver specialized speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities. Engage collaboratively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, caregivers, and families to formulate comprehensive care strategies. Provide essential education to patients and families to reinforce progress outside sessions. Participate in occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatient care, maintaining consistent support throughout each patient's rehabilitation journey. Ensure timely and accurate documentation that complies with state, federal, and organizational standards. Embrace continuous professional development through ongoing education and collaboration with colleagues. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification has not yet been obtained. Certifications
Valid state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be secured within 30 days of hire. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic methods for a wide range of ages, alongside a robust understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills for communication with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams. Capacity to tailor therapy techniques to respect diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment complemented by adept problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic medical records and documentation protocols. Benefits
Attractive compensation package reflective of experience and skill. Flexible scheduling options promoting work-life harmony and diverse patient caseloads. Opportunities to focus on specializations such as pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Paid time off (PTO) alongside holiday remuneration. Health benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Support for continuing education expenses and professional growth. A collaborative, team-orientated workplace emphasizing high-quality care and a commitment to lifelong learning.
A Career That Inspires Movement and Change In this position, you will not simply provide therapy - you will immerse yourself within a mission-driven community dedicated to enhancing communication, restoring voices, and nurturing authentic moments of understanding between individuals. You will join a team where clinicians support and uplift each other and where collaboration shines brighter than competition. Every individual who walks through our doors has a unique narrative; we trust in your expertise to help articulate it. Who We Seek We invite applications from passionate Speech Language Pathologists who approach their role with a combination of drive and compassion. You might envision a quiet child achieving eloquence or perceive the determination behind the speech of a stroke survivor. Whether you are a pediatric expert aiming to delve into adult care or a neuro-focused clinician interested in fostering early communication development, we welcome your enthusiasm. If you are ready to serve with empathy and expertise, we are eager to meet you. Let's Create Connections Together If you believe there is more to speech than spoken words, if you understand that therapy encompasses the building of trust as much as addressing goals, and if you appreciate laughter as a vital part of language, this could be the pivotal chapter in your career journey. Join us in embracing a community that celebrates the power of communication, connection, and the courage to reinvent oneself. Apply today to unify your voice with our mission - and support others in finding theirs.
