Psychiatric Mental Health Advanced Practice RN The psychiatric mental health advanced practice RN practices as a mental health specialist that works as an educator, advocate and care provider and is an advocate for well-being of patients with psychiatric disorders, intellectual disabilities and impairment across the lifespan using a holistic model of psychiatric-mental health. This position will support the Caring Recovery Opioid Treatment Program and the West Mood Clinic. Responsibilities:
Assessment of mental health needs of acute and chronically ill individual condition. Diagnose simple and complex mental health and psychiatric conditions. Develop and execute treatment plans to manage patients with psychiatric Conduct physical exams, order and interpret tests. Provide therapeutic interventions including prescribing and monitoring psychiatric medications. Provide individual psychotherapy (if trained) Manage patients with psychiatric, mental health, and substance abuse/use evidence based practice. Counsel on preventive care
Qualifications:
Expertise in the practice of nursing validated by five years of current clinical practice including two years in the area of specialty practice. PMHNP (psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner) certification required. Credential with APRN core and psychiatry care specialty.
