Assist veterinarians and technicians during exams, procedures, and surgeries. Safely handle, restrain, and care for patients of all temperaments and sizes. Prepare exam rooms, treatment areas, and surgical suites for daily use. Perform lab sample collection, in-house testing, and prepare reference lab submissions. Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian. Provide attentive monitoring for hospitalized and post-operative patients. Communicate effectively with clients regarding patient care and follow-up instructions. Maintain hospital cleanliness, organization, and compliance with AAHA standards. Support Fear Free and low-stress handling techniques.
Qualifications
Minimum 1 year of experience as a Veterinary Assistant required (2+ years strongly preferred). Proficiency in restraint, venipuncture, sample handling, and basic lab testing. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Compassionate, dependable, and proactive attitude. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
