Position Overview: Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Licensed Pharmacy Technician. This role supports pharmacists by preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and assisting with billing and quality assurance tasks. Key Responsibilities:
Welcome customers promptly, collect patient and insurance details, and process prescription requests accurately. Review patient profiles, handle refill requests, translate SIG codes, select products, count and measure medications, label prescriptions, and assist pharmacists to meet customer needs. Support front store operations and accurately fill unit dose trays. Perform billing duties including updating pricing lists monthly, processing patient billing, and adhering to cash handling policies. Research prior authorizations, resolve third-party billing issues, and assist with insurance audits. Monitor stock utilization, place medication orders, unpack deliveries within 24 hours, and manage returns of expired or damaged inventory. Maintain compounding records, prescription logs, and other documentation as required. Assist with quality assurance, department cleaning, form design, meeting preparation, and other assigned tasks. Contribute to the development of pharmacy technician policies and procedures. Complete monthly reports and monitor pharmacy refrigerator and freezer temperatures daily. Maintain accurate controlled substance logs (C III, IV, V). Process immunizations and prepare vaccines for pharmacist administration.
Education and Certification: Must be a Licensed Pharmacy Technician with certification. If not certified at hire, certification must be obtained within one year. High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience and Requirements: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and current car insurance are necessary. A warm, team-oriented attitude and commitment to compassionate care are essential.
