Equivalent to graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant college program. Three (3) years of professional experience as a Physician Assistant is highly desirable. Other combinations of education and experience may be considered. License & Special Requirements: Valid California Driver's License Valid Physician Assistant certificate issued by the California Department of Consumer Affairs' Medical Board of California Valid Controlled Substance Registration certificate issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration Must possess or be willing to obtain, a national provider identifier (NPI) Must not be excluded from participation in any federally funded health care program including, without limitation, Medicare or Medi-Cal Payment for licenses, certificates, trainings, travel expenses, etc., are negotiated within the employment contract. Recruitment Information The department currently has four (4) vacancies. In addition, Tehama County is establishing an eligibility list to fill current vacancies for a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (see separate recruitment), as well as subsequent vacancies which occur during the life of the eligibility list. Candidates who exceed entry level qualifications may be considered, with approval from the Board of Supervisors, for placement at other than A step. Health Insurance - The County offers a medical, dental, and vision plan. Current employee rates, as of January 1, 2025, are $234.54/mo. and $266.97 per month as of January 1, 2026 (EPO plan). The plan covers the employee and all eligible family members. Life Insurance - A $30,000 VOYA life insurance policy is also included. Holidays- 14 paid holidays, plus one personal holiday. Vacation - 96 hours of paid vacation (increases upon continuous years of service).
