Safely transport patients to designated locations while adhering to proper lifting and transferring techniques. Maintain a secure and healthy work environment by following established policies, federal and state regulations, and accreditation standards. Provide comfort and reassurance to patients and their families, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and attentiveness to schedules. Document all patient transports accurately in the electronic medical record system. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding transport completion and job duties. Clean and sanitize transport equipment to ensure patient safety.
Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience: Some patient care experience is preferred but not required. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel is beneficial. Certification: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Mental and Physical Requirements: This position requires close mental concentration and visual attention for extended periods. The role involves frequent standing, sitting, lifting up to 35 pounds, pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, turning, twisting, reaching, and near-constant walking. Ability to transport oneself efficiently throughout the facility is essential. Working Conditions: Expect frequent exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, chemicals, disinfectants, and occasional hostile individuals. Proper use of lifting equipment is mandatory to prevent injury.
