Evaluation and implementation of therapeutic recreation programs designed to increase, maintain or restore physical and mental health function as directed by the physician. Assisting patients in reaching their maximum performance levels in the areas of leisure, adaptive and recreational activities. Developing treatment plans based on evaluation findings and other relevant data gathered through treatment team that includes appropriate short and long term goals. Providing orientation to recreation therapy for patients by conducting groups in recreation therapy and based on the population of the group. Planning activities in advance in order to allow for effective introduction, the activity and closure. Assurance of effective scheduling on the weekends, in the evenings and in conjunction with approved off-campus activities. Working with a team in the delivery of care and participating in educational experiences for interns.

Bachelor's degree in Recreation Therapy, Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation Administration or an equivalent program from an accredited university. Board of Recreation Therapist Licensure and certified by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (CTRS) or have relevant Activity Director/Recreational Therapy experience and be eligible to obtain certification within 6 months of hire.
