Adjust and control complex electronic equipment in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic mammography examinations. Prepare and position patients prior to procedures to ensure their safety and obtain desired reports for diagnostic purposes. Calculate and select appropriate equipment and technical factors, such as proper type of film and number of kilovolts or milliamperes. Maintain working conditions of all equipment and report any malfunctions or needs for adjustments to appropriate personnel. Accurately document and notate technical and clinical information. Assist in maintaining sanitary condition of radiology area. Obtain complete patient history. Properly evaluate requisitions, including identifying patient and procedure to be performed. Comply with all Radiology Information System entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply and tracking monitors.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of a Radiologic Technology Program from an approved school Current licensure in the state of Ohio Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) with an Advanced Certification in Mammography
