Perform Ultrasound imaging procedures at a technical level, not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Perform a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures, as required. Transfers and positions, provides immobilization devices, as required, to produce diagnostic ultrasound imaging. Selects proper technical factors on an individual patient basis. Selects and operates equipment as directed. Provides protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards (where applicable). Processes films. Performs QA to images and facilitates in the delivery of the images to the PACS System for dictation. Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination during invasive procedures. Responsible for delegating areas of authority in the performance of procedures. May be responsible for specific areas of instruction in the school of technology and ancillary personnel. In the absence of a supervisor or senior technologist, he/she may be designated as acting supervisor. Assists in performing first aid. Conducts periodic quality control tests. Participates or conducts research in required specialty. Maintains adequate records as directed. Maintains order and cleanliness. Secures and returns supplies. Cooperates with all personnel in the proper conduct of the department. Rotates within the department and by shift as required. Maintains ethical relationships. Adheres to hospital and departmental rules and regulations. May be required to assist in the development of technical factors. May assist in the use of a variety of equipment or procedures, not routinely taught. Participates in in-service programs. Participates in Right-to-know, compliance training, HIPPA training. Performs all other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications Required Qualifications:
The candidate must have a high school diploma and be a graduate of an accredited Ultrasound program. In lieu of accredited program requirements, will accept 1 year of Ultrasound experience. ARDMS Certified or eligible. Must obtain certification within 1 year of employment One year experience in the field of radiology is preferred, however not required. Basic Life Certification (BLS) from the American Heart Association or able to obtain within 3 months of employment. Must have excellent communications skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with patients, staff and medical providers. The employee must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. This position is active and requires the employee to constantly move about in the office to assist patients, staff and medical providers.
