Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)Job Summary Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with the State Practice Act. Assists in implementing prescribed treatment programs to improve patient outcomes. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Deliver skilled treatment interventions as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist. Accurately document patient treatment, progress, and responses using proper medical terminology and timely completion of daily notes and charges. Communicate patient status and concerns clearly to the supervising therapist. Maintain compliance with State Practice Act, Medicare regulations, OSHA standards, and company policies. Keep treatment areas and equipment clean and safe per OSHA guidelines. Complete required annual trainings, continuing education, and maintain current CPR certification. Attend facility meetings and participate in team communication as directed. Meet established productivity standards while delivering quality care. Additional Responsibilities:
Participate in clinical in-services as requested. Stay current with developments in physical therapy and healthcare. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills & Abilities:
Strong teamwork and communication skills. Excellent organizational and time management abilities. Physical Requirements:
Ability to frequently lift, transfer, and maneuver patients (up to 50 lbs independently) using proper body mechanics. Capable of standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods. Sufficient visual, hearing, and speech abilities to observe, communicate, and document effectively. Ability to push wheeled equipment and perform physically demanding tasks for full shifts in accordance with labor laws. Required Credentials: • Graduation from a physical therapist assistant or physical therapist education program accredited by CAPTE or in the case of a graduate of an international physical therapist assistant program or international physical therapist program from a non-CAPTE accredited program seeking licensure, certification, or registration as a physical therapist assistant, a substantially equivalent education • Current valid State license/registration/certification
