Duties & Responsibilities:
Coordinate and facilitate CBP outreach to First Responder and EMS Communities
Provide local support for EMS personnel that provide emergency medical care and serves as a Liaison with local healthcare systems
Provide training to include, but not limited to, regular in-person EMS education sessions
Provide clinical education to include, but not limited to, facilitation of annual in-service clinical experiences
Provide advisory assistance and support to OCMO leadership and management, as applicable Assist with development and maintenance of baseline/standardized EMS strategies, policies, and protocols with operational CBP Components (e.g., United States Border Patrol, Office of Field Operations, and Office of Air and Marine), identifying gaps and capabilities in training, funding, resources, and planning for disaster preparedness and response Conduct research, analysis, and strategic planning and policy development regarding complex health and medical areas of concern such as emergency medicine, AED program, disaster preparedness and response, detainee health, medical countermeasures, naloxone, pandemic and emerging infectious diseases, and operational medicine to include flight, diving, and special operations medical needs and requirements Required Education, Skills, and Experience:
Minimum qualifications include 5 years of prior experience as an EMS Medical Director or Assistant Medical Director; medical licensing and training, and board-certification in Emergency Medicine Experience providing medical advice to EMPs and EMS personnel Experience with federal law enforcement EMS systems, personnel, and missions highly desirable Active medical license covering Puerto Rico, in addition to Florida is highly desirable Strong organization and time management skills Experience with medical programs highly preferred Operational experience with health program data and information management in an EMS, law enforcement, military, or humanitarian setting
Excellent communication and consulting skills with ability to work independently Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products required Detail-oriented and analytical troubleshooting experience Prior work at DHS, CBP, or FEMA a huge plus
