Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse License with the state of California. Current valid California Drivers License. Demonstrated ability to apply theories of adult education and teaching methods. Experience using Microsoft Office applications. Must possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate. Must possess and maintain a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certificate. May be requested to obtain AHA Instructor certifications per the needs of the Department. Ability to work on multiple projects and meet established deadlines. Able to work with minimum supervision, varying hours, and work in various locations and conditions. Able to work in a culturally and socio-economic diverse environment. The AHA requires that Instructors be at least 16 years of age for Heartsaver Instructor and BLS Instructor courses. ACLS and PALS Instructors must be at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified in a healthcare occupation where such skills are within the provider scope of practice.
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in health related field 2 years of OR circulating experience in an acute care hospital Familiarity with all aspects of technical, clerical, and fiscal management of a hospital department. Prior educator experience. Strong knowledge base in health education programs and project management skills
Please be advised that this location requires quarterly American Heart Association (AHA) Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) competency certification post-hire. This ongoing competency is required through resources internal to the facility; outside RQI competency resources are not acceptable for CommonSpirit Health compliance requirements.
