Our medical facility on Catalina Island is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. We are committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to the residents and visitors of Catalina Island. As a Medical Assistant at our facility, you will play a crucial role in assisting healthcare providers in delivering exceptional patient care. Your responsibilities will include rooming patients, taking vitals, preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and maintaining accurate medical records. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about helping others.

Answers multi-line phone, screens, and routes calls, takes messages for clinic staff and physicians. Schedules and edits patient physician appointments for new and returning patients. Assists physician in a variety of treatment and examination procedures such as pelvic, vaginal, and rectal examinations. Operates a variety of medical treatment and monitoring equipment. Removes, cleanses, medicates, and bandages sterile wound dressings. Prepares patients for examination or treatment and performs routine screening tests.
Assists physicians with procedure set-ups, patient procedures and examinations. Administers medication by intradermal, subcutaneous, or intramuscular injections, performs skin tests, venipunctures and other technical supportive services upon the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician or nurse. Treat all information, data and training materials utilized in the scope of the position with complete confidentiality and security. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Recognize and respect cultural diversity. Computer operation and EMR. Speak clearly and concisely. Able to communicate clearly and effectively in person, in writing, or by phone. Employ professional telephone etiquette and interpersonal techniques. Utilize and apply medical terminology appropriately. Ability to multitask and promote teamwork. Bilingual is a plus. Education Certification Graduate of accredited school for medical assistants or an equivalent combination of coursework, experience/training to qualify to sit for the CA State or National Certification exam. Experience
Three to five years of experience in a clinical setting. Two years medical assisting experience in a clinical setting. Two years experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion. Requirement
Current Medical Assistant Certification
Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS)
Pre-Employment Requirements Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and health clearance which includes a physical exam, TB testing, and immunization review. CIH is an equal opportunity employer. Shift Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am -5pm
