Endocrinologist Position This is an open continuous announcement that will remain open until filled. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis. Eligible applicants will be referred each week for consideration until a selection is made. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. The position is based at the Jacksonville VA (JAX 1 VA Clinic) under the section of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism within Medical Specialties Service. The JAX VA 1 clinic and the Gainesville (GNV) VA are integrated facilities. The appointed endocrinologist will report to the Chief of Endocrinology at the Malcom Randall VAMC in GNV while practicing out of the JAX VA 1 clinic Duties include:
Evaluating, treating and monitoring a variety of endocrine related conditions in the outpatient clinic setting, Performance of ultrasound-guided fine needle aspirate (FNA) thyroid biopsies as needed. A comprehensive consultative clinic is available for patient referral as necessary. A wide spectrum of patients including those with diabetes, thyroid disorders, and non-diabetic endocrine disorders are evaluated and treated.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME) Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification) Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting Work Schedule: M-F 8:00am-4:30pm (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
