A background check will be required. While a GED or high school diploma is required, a degree in safety or industrial health is preferred. Experience in the maritime or shipyard industry, along with forklift operation, will provide additional advantages. Candidates must also be physically capable of working in various conditions, including confined spaces and inclement weather. A valid driver's license is required, and the ability to drive company vehicles is necessary. A background check will be required.
Additional Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
Ability to work the 2nd shift and overtime as required. Ability to perform various physical tasks including grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, and working overhead. Must be comfortable working in confined spaces, such as manholes, and maintaining awkward positions for extended periods. Capable of performing indoor and outdoor work in varying temperatures and weather conditions. Must be able to work in areas that may not be environmentally controlled. Ability to lift, move, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. Ability to sit for extended periods, particularly when working at a desk or on a computer. Must have listening and hearing ability as well as visual acuity to safely navigate shipyard environment. This position must be able to drive company vehicles and maintain a current and valid driver's license. Ability to speak effectively in front of large groups Ability to lead by example and hold employees accountable when not following company safety requirements. May be required to conduct minor maintenance tasks in shipyard facilities, using various hand and power tools. Join us! So, what do you think?
