RN - Infusion People travel from across the country and around the world for Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) treatment at our hospitals. University of Minnesota Medical Center and University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital have provided compassionate, expert, innovative care to blood and marrow transplant (BMT) patients for over 40 years. Our program has been at the forefront of advances since performing the world's first successful BMT in 1968. Our teams have performed more than 6,000 BMTs since that time. Our BMT Program continues to thrive as one of the most respected BMT research and treatment programs in the world. The RN - Infusion is responsible for performing these functions and working in collaboration with providers and care team to perform these functions in accordance with all policy, procedure, and professional practice guidelines. An RN in this role will be trained in BMT clinic where they will assist with clinic procedures as well as RN needs. They will also be trained in the BMT infusion center. This RN will also be cross trained to the Masonic Cancer Care lab which treats both BMT patients as well as Hem/ONC patients. What you will do as an RN - Infusion:
Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes Implements nursing interventions based on plan of care Evaluates care and the patient's response to interventions and expected outcomes Delivers care as delegated by physician/authorized practitioner to assigned patients Performs other duties as determined by manager and clinic needs
What you will need:
Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse license BLS Certification Current national certification depending on area of specialty or the ability to obtain one within 18 months of start date or prorated for FTE appointment (if applicable for role). Maintain Oncology Nursing Society's ONS Provider Card or obtain within 30 days of start date (if applicable for role).
