Provide compassionate and timely care to each patient encountered. Report any suspected equipment malfunctions promptly to management. Maintain proficiency in all basic and specialized diagnostic imaging procedures. Accurately position patients using accessory devices and instruct on breathing control, adjusting technical factors based on patient characteristics. Perform clerical duties including patient reception, documentation, billing, and exam sign-out. Occasionally assist with scheduling for mammography, X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound appointments. Adhere to sterile techniques to prevent contamination. Participate in quality assurance and quality control programs within the department. Maintain professional conduct and represent the imaging department with integrity. Engage in continuing education and departmental meetings to maintain and enhance skills. Assist with infection control by ensuring cleanliness of exam rooms. Enter patient information accurately into Radiology Information Systems (RIS). Manage mammography quality control and follow-up communications with patients. Stock supplies and perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 24 months). At least one year of mammography experience is required. Experience with 3D mammography is preferred. Licenses and Certifications
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Mammography or obtain registration within one year of employment. State licensure as required. RTRM certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of mammography equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to adapt imaging procedures to meet patient needs and resolve issues effectively. Understanding of age-specific growth and development principles to provide tailored patient care. Proficiency with technology including Microsoft Office and PACS/RIS software. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage diverse audiences. Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare providers, patients, and team members. Excellent organizational and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Comfortable working on-call shifts as assigned.
Physical Requirements Includes frequent lifting and carrying of items up to 35 lbs, standing, walking, bending, and crouching. Vision, hearing, and speech within normal range with or without corrective devices. Work Environment This position involves 12-hour shifts on a part-time, per diem basis within a supportive healthcare setting in the Pacific Northwest region.
