Key Responsibilities
Conduct a wide range of ultrasound examinations, including abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, and cardiac imaging Prioritize patient comfort and safety during exams, providing clear explanations and reassurance Work as part of a collaborative team with radiologists and the healthcare staff to deliver superior diagnostic images Maintain and troubleshoot ultrasound machinery, ensuring operational excellence Record all procedures accurately and maintain comprehensive patient documentation in the electronic health record Stay informed on advancements in ultrasound technology and new procedural techniques Education Requirements
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely-related field Preferred completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program Certifications Required
Current certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or an equivalent body Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred Essential Skills
