Manage daily department operations efficiently and ensure timely completion of duties. Continuously monitor crew performance, identify issues, and implement corrective actions. Conduct employee evaluations using performance management systems within set timeframes. Exhibit strong organizational, decision-making, and delegation skills, acting independently when necessary. Coordinate all patient transfers promptly and document accurately using the Missouri Ambulance Report Form (MARF). Apply critical thinking to assess patient needs and delegate care tasks appropriately to EMTs and First Responders. Demonstrate proficiency in advanced paramedic skills including cardiac monitoring, arrhythmia interpretation, airway management, defibrillation, medication administration, and rapid sequence intubation. Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams and emergency service providers to ensure seamless patient care transitions. Assess trauma scenes efficiently and activate trauma teams as needed. Adhere to infection control protocols and promote safe patient handling techniques among team members. Education High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of a state-approved EMT-P course is mandatory. Experience Minimum of one year of paramedic experience required; five years preferred but not mandatory. Certifications and Licenses
Current state licensure as an EMT-P required. American Heart Association certifications in BLS, ACLS, PHTLS, and PALS required (ACLS, PHTLS, and PALS must be obtained within six months of hire).
Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical stamina, including lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent walking, standing, and driving for extended periods. The position also involves managing stressful and traumatic situations. Working Conditions Frequent exposure to infectious diseases and potentially hostile individuals may occur.
