Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, facility policies, and state regulations Observe residents for changes in condition, behaviors, or medication side effects and promptly report concerns to nursing leadership Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support as needed Provide compassionate support and redirection to residents experiencing memory loss, confusion, or behavioral challenges Promote a calm, positive, and engaging environment within the Memory Care neighborhood Accurately document medication administration, resident care, and observations in the electronic medical record Encourage resident participation in activities and social engagement opportunities Follow infection prevention, safety, and emergency procedures at all times Collaborate closely with nurses, caregivers, life enrichment staff, and families to support individualized resident care plans Maintain resident confidentiality and uphold HIPAA standards
Qualifications
Current 40-hour Medication Aide certification required in the state of Nebraska Experience working with seniors or individuals with dementia preferred Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm and compassionate in challenging situations Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment Basic computer and documentation skills required
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and assist residents throughout the shift Ability to lift and/or transfer up to 50 pounds with assistance as needed Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
