Über
Accurately decontaminates and reprocesses endoscopic equipment and accessories. Under the direction of an RN, assists in procedure rooms to assist in caring for patient, obtaining specimens, and the cleaning and turn around of procedure rooms and pre and post recovery areas. Maintains the cleanliness of all procedure rooms and reprocessing room. Maintains inventory of endoscopy supplies, reprocessing supplies and equipment.
Additional Responsibilities
Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.
Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace. Qualifications
Education: High School Equivalent / GED (Required) Work Experience: less than 1 year Previous Lab experience in CSP or endoscopy reprocessing (Preferred) and Patient Care experience (Preferred) Previous experience in endoscopy reprocessing or Central Sterile Processing (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Capable of working with varied equipment. (Required proficiency) Detail-oriented, organized, and accurate. (Required proficiency) Ability to function independently and as a team player in a fast-paced environment. (Required proficiency) Must have basic written and verbal communication skills. (Required proficiency) Notable client service skills. (Required proficiency) Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. (Required proficiency) Demonstrated ability to use PCs, Microsoft Office suite, and general office equipment (i.e., printers, copy machine, FAX machine, etc.). (Required proficiency) Ability to stand for extended periods of time. (Required proficiency) Licenses and Certifications: Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) (Required within 1 Year) Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Preferred) Certification in Scope reprocessing (Required within 1 Year) and Successful completion of hospital based Endoscopy Orientation (Required)
