Performing meticulous patient assessments, ordering relevant diagnostic tests, and developing tailored care plans Identifying and managing acute, episodic, or chronic health issues in cooperation with physicians or independently according to your credentialing Teaching patients and their families about prevention, health promotion, and chronic disease management Prescribing medications and treatments within your scope of practice Engaging in follow-ups and chronic care management Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide seamless, comprehensive care Maintaining detailed and accurate records within electronic medical records (EMR) Education Requirements
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Required Certifications
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in the state of North Carolina National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or the ability to secure them within 90 days) Skills That Set You Apart
