Registered Nurse - Cath Prep/Recovery This is a 13-week contract position. 4 x 10-hour shifts, Monday to Friday with flexible start times: 6am, 7am, 8am, 9am, or 10am. The Registered Nurse in the Cath Prep/Recovery unit will be responsible for preparing patients for Cath and EP procedures, ensuring they are ready for their scheduled start times, and overseeing recovery post-procedure. This includes hemodynamic monitoring, recovery from anesthesia and sedation, and assisting in a variety of cardiac-related procedures. Responsibilities:
Prepare patients prior to cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures. Monitor patients during and after procedures, including hemodynamic status. Assist with various cardiac procedures, including cardioversion and Transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE). Manage arterial and venous sheaths and oversee recovery from sedation or anesthesia.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:
Minimum 1 year of charge experience in a similar unit. Experience with patient ratios of 4:1. Must hold current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. 1+ years of experience with Epic charting system is preferred. Experience in conscious sedation, telemetry, and managing pulmonary artery lines is highly desirable.
