Performs all respiratory care services for all patients: geriatric, adult, pediatric, and neonatal. Duties include ventilator management, nebulized medication therapy, oxygen therapy, specialty gas administration, chest physiotherapy, aerosol therapy, mist tent therapy, quality assurance and improvement, charge capture review. Perform diagnostic procedures: e.g. 12-lead ECGS, simple pulmonary function testing, pulse oximetry, assist physician with cardiac stress testing. Perform arterial and capillary punctures; determine oxygenation, acid-base balance and efficiency of ventilation and metabolism; ensure adequate ventilation and oxygenation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Will have close collaboration with other members of health care team; participates in continuing education and Rapid Response Team. Record treatment and patients' responses in respiratory care records and patient charts. Able to assess patients, their needs and ability to tolerate treatment and make a reassessment based on their response to treatment.

Qualifications:
College diploma required. Three years experience as a Respiratory Therapist required. State of CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license required. American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required. Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) certification required.
Job Information:
Full time, varied 12 hour shifts, on-call required. Starting wage $40.66 to $49.28 based on qualifications.
