Description
Assess patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics through standardized tests and insightful observation methods. Craft individualized treatment strategies that meet both immediate and long-range communication and swallowing objectives. Offer dedicated speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language skills, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing mechanisms. Work in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, families, and caregivers, to develop comprehensive care plans. Provide education to patients and their families to support continued progress beyond clinical therapy sessions. Conduct occasional inpatient assessments and interventions for speech therapy to maintain a seamless continuum of care during treatment. Document patient progress and treatment plans accurately and promptly in alignment with all regulatory standards. Engage in continuous learning to remain updated on new methodologies and advancements in the field of speech-language pathology. Education
A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. A supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified. Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred: ASHA's Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within the first 30 days of hire. Skills
Expertise in evidence-based therapy practices suitable for all age groups, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired disorders affecting speech, language, and swallowing. Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with patients, families, and fellow healthcare providers. Ability to tailor therapy techniques to meet a variety of cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Solid clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
