Alexandria Veterinary Clinic is looking for a dependable, team-oriented professional to join our growing practice and help deliver exceptional patient care in a collaborative, supportive environment.
What You'll Do
As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll play an essential role in supporting our veterinarians, patients, and clients by:
- Creating a smooth and efficient exam room workflow
- Providing attentive, compassionate patient care and handling
- Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records
- Reviewing treatment plans and discharge instructions with clients
- Educating pet owners and answering questions with empathy and clarity
- Supporting outpatient procedures and treatments under veterinarian direction
- Assisting with patient history collection, vitals, and medication administration
- Helping create a positive experience for both pets and their people
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining excellent communication, organization, and client service skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- $16-$18/hour based on experience*
- $500 bonus package available for candidates with 3+ consecutive years in a Veterinary Assistant role

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- 1+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
Preferred Skills
- Patient restraint and low-stress handling
- Oral medication administration
- Obtaining vitals and TPRs
- Client communication and education
- Collecting and relaying patient/client history to the DVM
- Strong multitasking and teamwork abilities
