InventoryPlanner Specialist - Semiconductor Industry Role Overview TheInventory Planner Specialist is responsible for ensuring availability and optimisation of critical spare parts supporting semiconductor manufacturing operations. The role focuses on managing parts clean loops, BOM-driven planning, and maintaining appropriate Days of Inventory (DOI) to protect tool uptime while minimising excess inventory. Key Responsibilities Manage and maintain multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) for spare parts used in semiconductor tools Plan and optimise parts clean loops (dirty, clean, ready) to ensure continuous availability of critical components Monitor and control Days of Inventory (DOI), balancing service levels with inventory cost Determine optimal loop size based on usage rates, turnaround times (TAT), and failure rates Coordinate with parts clean suppliers to manage turnaround time, capacity, and quality performance Identify and prioritise critical spares to prevent tool downtime and line stoppage events Maintain accurate planning parameters in ERP systems (lead time, safety stock, reorder points) Monitor and analyse consumption trends, MTBF, and usage data to refine planning strategies Drive inventory accuracy through transaction discipline and cycle count participation Proactively manage shortages and develop recovery or mitigation actions Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance loop efficiency and reduce waste Required Skills & Experience Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech regulated environments, preferred but not essential as training will be provided. Experience with inventory planning, MRP, and supply chain management principles Proven capability in BOM-driven planning and spare parts management Experience managing repairable parts or parts clean loops is highly desirable Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data analysis, reporting) Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or equivalent Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Behavioral Competencies Proactive and solution-oriented mindset Strong ownership and accountability for outcomes Ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, operations, and procurement teams Continuous improvement mindset with focus on efficiency and optimisation Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Zero line-down events due to spare parts availability Inventory accuracy and reduction of discrepancies Optimised loop sizes and reduced turnaround times Achievement of DOI targets Reduction in aged or obsolete inventory MSR-FSR is an Equal Opportunities Employer Please note we do not require the assistance of Recruitment Agencies at this time.
