We are seeking an experienced Built-Up Commercial Roofing Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining built-up roofing (BUR) systems on commercial and industrial buildings. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and experienced working with asphalt, tar, insulation, and multi-ply roofing systems.
Key Responsibilities Install, repair, and maintain built-up roofing systems on commercial properties Apply hot asphalt, roofing felts, insulation, and coatings according to manufacturer specifications Perform tear-offs and roof preparation for new installations and repairs Operate roofing equipment, kettles, torches, and hand tools safely and efficiently Inspect roofs and identify leaks, damage, and repair needs Follow all OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures Work collaboratively with foremen, project managers, and crew members Maintain a clean and organized job site Complete work efficiently while maintaining quality standards
Qualifications 2+ years of commercial roofing experience preferred Experience with built-up roofing (BUR) systems required Ability to work at heights and in varying weather conditions Knowledge of roofing materials, tools, and safety practices Ability to lift 50+ pounds regularly Reliable transportation and punctual attendance Valid drivers license preferred OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is a plus
