Must be able to work 2 - 12 hour shifts per week or more - year around
💼 Job Duties

🩺 Responsibilities for Patient Care Associate (PCA):
- Obtain vital signs and document in the electronic medical record system 📊
- Assist with patient care needs, including:
- Meals
- Bathing
- Toileting
- Ambulation
- Mobility assistance
- Patient transport
- Provide clerical support as needed
🔬 Responsibilities for Patient Care Technician (PCT):
- Perform all PCA job duties
- Phlebotomy / blood cultures
- Enteral feeding
- Wound care
- IV / Foley removal
- Tracheostomy care & suctioning
🎓 Training
- Our Patient Care Associate Training Program is an accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program
- Gain hands-on experience in a supportive healthcare environment
📘 No Experience? No Problem!
- Mercy provides a required 175-hour training program that meets Department of Health and Senior Services requirements
- Training is completed during new hire orientation and must be finished within 90 days
🫀 Certifications Requirements:
- BLS required within 1 month of hire
- PCA competencies completed within 3 months of hire
✅ Qualifications
🎓 Education:
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- CNA/CPTC or
- Currently enrolled in a healthcare program
- OR current Mercy co-worker
🧪 Experience:
- None required
💪 Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds regularly 🏋️
- Prolonged standing and walking during shifts 🚶♂️
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 🔄

- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) 🎖️
