This role provides on‑site technical direction to customer‑owned utility and industrial power plants for their Steam Turbine Generator Systems. The TFA reviews plant engineering documents and P&ID’s, troubleshoots plant systems and equipment, and plans, organizes, integrates and directs resources such as labor, tools and materials to complete the work scope according to contractual requirements. The primary responsibility is to safely manage the maintenance and repair of the equipment used in power generation applications. Remote position within the U.S. with an expectation of 80% travel annually, including domestic and occasional Canadian travel. Continuous employment is dependent on successful completion of General Electric training and passing of a background and drug screening. Responsibilities
Manage, perform, coordinate, and/or monitor Steam Power site activities. Perform on‑site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation. Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services for troublesome equipment. Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites. Prepare and submit timely technical reports, job status reports, and customer reports. Order materials, secure quotations, and ensure shipment of parts to the site. Execute aftermarket upgrades that require site level work. Supervise critical tasks when performed by third parties (e.g., dimensional checks, measurements). Sign off on all changes implemented. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or a related discipline from an accredited university with a 3.0 or higher GPA; or a High School Diploma / GED with 4+ years of experience in a Field Services or power generation equipment maintenance role. Ability to obtain Unescorted Security Clearance to Nuclear Facilities across NAM. Successful completion of General Electric’s background and drug screening within 48 hours of receiving test paperwork. Desired Qualifications
Experience working on customer sites. Technically oriented, fast‑learner, self‑starter with minimal direction and willingness for self‑study. Strong understanding of Steam Turbine Operation and Controlling Parameters or Steam Boiler Operational Principles. Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, dial and laser alignment, and thermal growth equipment. Benefits
