Pay Rate: $25.00 an hour
SUMMARY: Schedule, set up, maintain and operate audio-visual and multimedia equipment for event productions. Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for the set-up, operation and breakdown of basic to high-end computer, audio, video, projection and lighting equipment
- Secure, store, transport and provide routine maintenance on equipment
- Account for inventories before and after each event
- Perform audits and assist with forecasting equipment needs and planning projects
- Perform audio and video program editing
- Interact with internal and external guests to meet and exceed their needs
- Assists Catering department as needed
KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge and Certification
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
- 2-year technical or trade school degree in Audio/Video Production or related field; and 2 years audio / visual experience, including operational knowledge with video projectors, DVD/VCR, karaoke machine, and Midas M32 soundboard or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills
Required:
- Accurate and detail-oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Proficient computer skills Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and Windows
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude
Abilities
Required:
- Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
- Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
- Ability to independently or as a team to complete multiple tasks
- Ability to serve both internal and external customers
- Ability to troubleshoot, maintain and repair specialized equipment
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
REQUIRED TRAINING
- Treasure Island guest service training
- Any position-related training as determined by department manager
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must be able to walk and / or stand and sit for long periods throughout the day
- Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel and stoop
- Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
- Must have the ability to independently lift 25+ pounds routinely
- Must have manual dexterity necessary to manipulate electronic equipment
- Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions
- Must have good eye hand coordination
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Office, gaming floor and convention center environment including flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke and outdoors for guest events
- Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays
- Occasionally overtime may be required
- Occasionally must deal with angry or hostile individuals
- High volume direct public contact
